District 7040 Interact Mission to El Salvador, March 10 - 20, 2006

DAY 11: Monday, March 20th, 2006

This morning we were up at the crack of dawn and lined our suitcases out on the sidewalk in front of the Happy House. “Where is the truck??” Half an hour later…… “Where IS the truck??” After a few nervous phone calls by Ligia, a small truck appeared and we started to jam our cases into the back and onto the bus. Whew…they all fit!

Things were pretty uneventful at the airport, although we almost left the hammocks behind.

It was at the Miami Airport where things got really interesting. For a brief moment in time, Jin went missing! Thank goodness he is a world traveller and was able to get himself to the departure gate with minutes to spare! We sure were all happy to see him.

In Montreal, Interactors Sean and Jodie were met by their parents who also had our winter coats. Thanks for looking after them!

One more bus ride and we were back in Cornwall; our amazing journey soon to be just a wonderful memory of…. the discovery of others and of ourselves, hard work, sweltering temperatures, the joy in the faces of children, the smiles on the faces of hardship, dirt, timmy shirts, blue shirts and friends for life.
