| District 7040 Interact Mission to El Salvador, March 8 - 19, 2007 |
DAY 5: Monday, March 12th, 2007Today was a fun day…we traveled a long distance in the hot sun to Los Arajas a developing village. To get there we had to take a truck a long bumpy dirt road while we were standing in the back. Then we had to walk 15 minutes down a steep slope because the truck could no longer drive on the road. When we got there we split up into two groups, one to put 250lbs panels up to make the walls of the houses and the other group made cement, dug holes and put columns up. That took most of the day and then at 2:30 pm we left for the long way back to the top. The way up took much longer then the way down, approx. 45 min to an hour. It was very very hot. When we got back to the hotel we took fast showers after we had to wait for our water to come back and then we were back out on the road to meet for supper with the Interactors of El Salvador. After supper we had a meeting about what we do and different types of fundraisers the Interact groups have done. Now we are back at the hotel getting ready for sleep. Tomorrow we are back at the school finishing up the mural. See you soon! Laura, Myra, Zoe, Chelsea, Skye (new room number, Number 1) the sweet!!!!!!!!!!! Ya buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Home slice true that!!!
