District 7040 Interact Mission to El Salvador, March 8 - 19, 2007

DAY 9: Friday, March 16th, 2007

Today was our 2nd dirt day. We found out that we didn’t have to walk down the large hill so we were quite excited. We reached the site and split up the group into two groups. We managed to complete 1 ½ hours before lunch. During the lunch period residents of the village came and we donated some clothes, shoes, etc. after lunch we went we went back to work. We completed the last half of the house. When we were heading towards the 3rd house we were joined by a Rotary Club from New Hampshire. They helped us work on the 3rd house and we completed it in half an hour. Then we had to go back home. We went in the truck and actually went to the site from last year when the mission participants dug trenches. Then we went back to the hotel. We got ready to go to a Rotarian’s house to have a pupusa party. Some of us learned how to make pupusas and it was quite fun. Then we had to leave early as tomorrow we have to go to the medical clinic in San Miguel. We can’t wait and it should be fun!
