| District 7040 Interact Mission to El Salvador, March 8 - 19, 2007 |
DAY 12: Monday, March 19th, 2007What a week! The temperatures soared and the sweat rolled off our backs. Congratulations to all the Interactors of Mission 2007 who worked so hard to build houses, to provide shoes and clothing to those without, to donate school supplies and to beautify the escuelita with paint and a mural and to sponsor and show affection to abandoned children at the orphanage. Last, but not least, be proud you demonstrated so much love and respect for the children and citizens of El Salvador. Thank you to Rotarians: Rafael, for picking us up at the airport and delivering lunch at CIDECO. Hugs and kisses to Lissett for 3 trips to the hospital, for being with us on that sleepless night and then hosting our farewell party. WE LOVE YOU!! Thank you to Carlo P. for hosting a pupusa party and Carlos B. for help with the translations on the final day. Thanks to Ovidio for supplying the truck for our luggage and also for help and support on a difficult day. Thank you to Dr. David Bara Egan for taking time from a busy schedule to personally care for our student. Thank you to our good friends, Doris and Gerardo Hidalgo and Doris and Luciana. We knew we could call on you if needed! Mucho Gracias to Rotaractors: Otto our loyal and constant guide and translator, Maria Jose for communications before the trip and for support during the week, Lombardo for help and support on the incredible work days, Diego for dedication and tireless help at CIDECO, and Ricardo and Alejandro for helping us with translations. Thank you to Dobie Savic, our web master, who is always vigilant for diaries and pictures to post on the website. We know how important it is for parents to be able to see their children in action during the week. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Glasberg for taking care of our winter coats while we were away. It was great to see familiar faces upon arrival in Montreal! To the Interactors:
We hope it was the time of your life!!! Barb |
